There needs to be increased funding for the arts in all levels of education.
The No Child Left Behind Act, a bill passed in 2002 during Bush's presidency heavily impacted the arts funding in schools.
Schools were required to increase their standardized testing on the core subjects, yet the NCLB authorized improper funding for this, causing districts to find the excess money from other areas to support this.
This lead to arts programs going through extensive budget cuts (as the arts are not apart of standardized testing) to use the money to account for the new programs/testing.
Now is not the time to stop pushing for arts funding!!
